Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is truly the heart of the Silk Road
It was founded over 2.500 years ago and it is one of the oldest cities in the world,
It is also called East Babylon, because it was an important crossroads of different cultures and ethnic groups.
The concept
Messing up is breaking boundaries
Samarcanda combines histories, cultures and people mixing fabrics that harmonize with each other so as to create a Babylon when everyone speaks the same and universal language.
A universal means of communication
Italian art of tailoring
All Samarcanda garments and accessories are sewn and packaged in Italy by skilled artisans of Italian tailoring, leather processing and millinery. The working hours of each Samarcanda garment are over 40 and from 2 to 15 meters of natural fiber fabrics from various parts of the world are used.
The fabrics are selected from existing samples and not produced on request, to prevent overproduction and resource waste. Pure and mixed polyamide and polyester are excluded.
Every Samarcanda garment is unique in its composition and the way fabrics are combined.
Samarcanda’s values
